Just... What in the world?
Holly and Orla are beautiful! Their features are strong and pretty!
(I know they're your characters and you probably don't really care either way, I just felt like telling you. :'D)
You know, I don't even mind when people don't like my characters for whatever reasons. Really, it's okay, you can't like everything/everyone after all and neither you can't find everyone pretty! It's just... why do people feel the need to point that stuff out all the time? Why do they always use the words "masculine/manly" when the character is clearly feminine overall? Why do so many people overlook the fact that not every woman has a cute round face with huge doll eyes and pouty lips? Even say that it's a "mistake" when people draw female characters with stronger features?
Guh, it just seems so pointless to me. And I care about that, I really do. Not because someone "insulted" my creations. I like how they look and that's most important to me. It's just so unfair to all the people who don't look like the "classic girly girl". Like it's wrong to look/be different. :/
I have several characters and stories, etc, that I just don't put on here. (Because I don't have a scanner and I just stick to pencil and paper-) And I try to make my characters NOT like all of the people you would see on the streets, and I have been told more than once that a girl character I made wasn't pretty; or how a guy I made looked "girly" because he wasn't buff and bulging muscle.
I still remember what a friend of mine said to me about one of my characters, she said, "Wow, I like her. Her face isn't pretty at all, but I like it." And it just really crushed my feelings, because I had thought that I had made her pretty; but I also gave her faults, haha.
Anyhow, my point is that I can understand what you mean, and it just irks me whenever someone sends you a mean "ask" on tumblr pointing on things that really needn't be pointed out.
Also, another reason why I was truly drawn to your characters/their personalities/situations is BECAUSE they don't all look like the typical story females or males. They're all so unique, but also realistic at the same time. Like, I could easily picture them being real people.
